Wildwalk - Bird identifier responsive website
27 Marchl 2016
The focus of my main multimedia project is a Bird Identifier. The idea is that families can use the responsive website on their smart phone whilst out walking. The user is asked four questions to help the system search a database of birds. It then shows the user suggested matches to their description. Once they have identified the bird they can choose to save the find to their own user-page.
From their user page they can opt to post their find to their local school's page. The school can then see what birds were identified where and by whom, This would help the school in recording wild birds, which could in turn be used as part of their Biodiversity Green Flag application.
We called the site wildwalk and registered the domain name with webworld.ie as we wanted to reserve the name to avoid any name conflicts arising during the project life-time.
Feel free to visit the project blog to learn more about the design process.

Currently we are working on HTML and CSS to create the responsive website. Once the pages have been built the focus will move on to programming functionality to the pages and hooking up the database for the bird identifier and user details.
